Mount Cotton is a suburb located in the city of Redland, Queensland, Australia. It is located approximately 30 kilometers (19 mi) southeast of the city of Brisbane, and is considered a part of the Greater Brisbane metropolitan area. The suburb is known for its rural atmosphere, with many farms and acreages in the area. Mount Cotton is home to a number of parks, such as the Mount Cotton Forest Reserve, which offers hiking and biking trails, and the Mount Cotton Picnic Ground, which offers playgrounds and picnic areas. The suburb also has a number of schools, and is located near a number of other recreational and natural attractions, such as the Sirromet Winery and the Mount Cotton Lookout, which provides panoramic views of the city. The Mount Cotton community is active and it has a volunteer rural fire brigade, which provides support to the area during bushfires.
