The suburb is situated on the Redcliffe Peninsula and is known for its beach and coastal lifestyle. Scarborough has a number of parks and recreational facilities, including a popular beach, fishing platform and a boat ramp. The suburb also has a variety of small businesses such as cafes, restaurants, and shops. The Scarborough Marina and the Redcliffe Jetty are popular tourist destinations. It also has a number of historical landmarks such as the Scarborough War Memorial.
